From the court to the riyal, every detail is Qatari
Murafe was built for law offices in Qatar, and it shows: litigation degrees in linked files, Qatari judicial bodies ready in the lists, deadlines with alerts, and every amount in Qatari riyals.
Courts and litigation degrees
Every case in Murafe carries one litigation degree, and each degree is a file of its own, linked to the other files of the same dispute. When a case moves on, the appeal, cassation or execution file is opened from the existing one and inherits its client, subject, opponents and team, while each degree keeps its own hearings, judgments and statistics.
The names of Qatari courts, public prosecution offices and judicial and dispute-resolution committees come preloaded, 47 in all, together with arbitration centres. They are there to classify your files and imply no partnership or endorsement, and your system administrator can add any new body from the settings.
Criminal files get a section of their own: the competent prosecution office and its case number, the charge and the articles it cites, the defendant's custody or bail status, and the bail amount where bail was granted.
Deadlines your lawyers configure and control
Recording a judgment is where deadline tracking starts. Murafe takes the judgment date, its degree and the type of case, whether civil and commercial, urgent, criminal or before a dispute-resolution committee, and proposes the last day to challenge it, showing the route of challenge beneath the judgment. The lawyer can accept that date or change it by hand.
Each office owns its periods. An authorised user edits them in the settings, starting from initial values that the office's lawyers check against the law and correct where needed. The system calculates and the lawyer decides; the legal responsibility for every date remains the office's.
Alerts reach the responsible lawyer and the case team 7 days and again 2 days before the date, and approaching deadlines sit on the dashboard. Marking a judgment as appealed or as final stops the alerts. For an order on petition, the lawyer enters the last date to file a grievance, and the same alerts follow.
Qatari riyals and Arabic-first documents
Every amount in Murafe is in Qatari riyals. Receipt and payment vouchers print with the amount written out in Arabic words automatically, next to the total, the amount paid and the balance, in a layout modelled on an office voucher book.
Fee agreements, forms and vouchers come out in Arabic, right to left, on your office's letterhead, and always on white paper. Client files hold the identifiers that offices in Qatar work with: ID card number, expiry date and nationality for individuals, and the commercial registration number for companies, with an alert before an ID card expires.
One linked file for every stage of a dispute
First instance
The case before the court of first degree, with its own hearings, requests, memos and judgments.
Appeal
Opened from the first-instance file in one step; the client, opponents and team carry over, and the two files stay linked.
Cassation
A separate file linked to the earlier files of the same dispute, keeping its own hearings, judgments and statistics.
Execution
Opened once the executory formula has been obtained, with any execution dispute filed as a case linked to it.
Arbitration
Arbitration and amicable settlement files, including an annulment action against an arbitral award, linked like any other degree.
47 Qatari courts, prosecution offices and committees
They ship with their official Arabic names, as the office picks them in each file. Each office can rename them or add its own.
